Linde-Griffith Construction has been a family owned and operated
business from the beginning. Two senior partners who guided
the company for the past 50 years just retired at the end of 2020
– Raymond Finley III, who was CEO and executive chairman of
Linde-Griffith, and John F. Shannon, P.E., who was president.
The five partners who run the firm today are Chris Shannon,
John D. Shannon, Kevin Shannon, Michael Shannon and David
Price (who married into the Shannon family). The partners are all
very hands-on, according to Price.
“One of the partners, including myself, will serve as a project
manager or project executive on every project,” he said.
Price says that usually entails spending at least a few days a
week out at the project site, overseeing construction work and
ensuring everything is running safely and smoothly. It’s a system,
he says, that ensures true accountability.
“It’s not like I need to go check with my boss or supervisor,” said
Price. “We are right there, and we can make things happen in a very
timely manner.”
Price states that Linde-Griffith is capable of managing pile
installation projects from start to finish. That covers the gamut
from surveying the site and evaluating and costing out plans, to
layout and construction.
“Our number one goal is to service our customers, and that
includes everything from giving them the best design and product
to meeting their schedules and all of their needs and demands,”
said Price. “If you were to look at our customer portfolio, you’d see
over 90% of our business is repeat business. That means people
keep coming back.”
Up until 2000, the vast majority of Linde-Griffith’s projects were
comprised of pile driving installations. That’s not the case anymore.
CONTRACTOR MEMBER
“We’re always looking to grow,
especially as our clients,
the larger developers and
construction managers, seek
to expand their horizons. We
want to continue servicing
them and fostering those
partnerships and relationships.”
