INCOMING PRESIDENT’S MESSAGE
As president, it is my intent to focus on
improving our impact and ability to drive
member value. A few months back, we
sent a poll to all PDCA members, where we
asked you to share your thoughts on how
PDCA is doing and ways we could improve.
(Normally, we would have discussed this at
our annual meeting but, due to COVID-19
and safety concerns, the board recognized
a poll would be necessary.) The results are
in and these are our key focus areas moving
forward, based on the insights gleaned
from the responses (ranked most important
to least important):
1. Increase committee involvement
2. Increase website resource materials
3. Enhance PileDriver magazine
4. Better and more local chapter events
5. Develop additional education and
training opportunities
6. Improve conferences/seminars
These items, as well as the additional
comments provided, were discussed at our
yearly planning meeting in January and
the board is committed to providing the
recommended improvements to the best
of our ability.
As you can see, committee involvement
was the #1 rated item in the poll. As a
reminder, PDCA has 9 standing committees:
• Associate Member Council
• Chapters
• Communications
• Contracts & Risk
• Education
• Membership
• Safety & Environmental
• Steel Sheet Pile
• Technical
Most of the nuts and bolts work of
PDCA is accomplished within these committees
and we need all of our members
to get involved. PDCA is only as good as
what each of us puts into it. By participating
at the committee level, you will help
promote PDCA and its objectives and
bring new ideas and perspectives to the
table. I also encourage each member to
get at least one employee involved on a
committee. It’s a great opportunity to get
them engaged and help them gain additional
leadership skills.
In order for PDCA to thrive, we need
to increase our membership. I am asking
every member to ask just one other
company to join. It could be another contractor,
supplier, engineer or even a customer.
The strength of any organization lies
within its members. New members bring
renewed energy, additional content and
new ideas to grow and shape our industry
and organization.
With these goals in mind, I look
forward to serving as your 2021 president
and can be reached via email at
keving@patriot-construction.com and
phone at 225-776-4089 for any concerns
you may have or want addressed throughout
the year. I am committed to serving
the best interest of PDCA’s members
and the best interests of the organization
throughout my term as president.
Stay safe – and remember, A DRIVEN
PILE IS A TESTED PILE! t
