CONTRACTOR MEMBER
RISING TO
THE CHALLENGE
The New York City/New Jersey area is one the world’s largest conurbations,
boasting many impressive structures and a unique cityscape that’s instantly
identifiable. The deep foundations firm Linde-Griffith Construction Co. has
been helping to shape that skyline for more than 100 years.
Linde-Griffith Construction Co. is a specialty contractor
based in Newark, N.J., and has been driving piles
since 1909.
The company was founded by August Lind and George Griffith,
two business partners who bought the assets of a business they
were working for back then for the measly sum of $1. In the years
since, Linde-Griffith Construction has grown to become one of the
leading deep foundation names in the New York/New Jersey metropolitan
area.
Over the years, Linde-Griffith has driven piles for thousands
of projects, both large and small. They include MetLife Stadium,
Newark Liberty International Airport, numerous power plants,
schools, hospitals and warehouses, and many of the high-rise
structures lining the Hudson River that shape the New York City
and adjacent New Jersey skylines.
The Linde-Griffith office in Newark has been its primary location
for more than 80 years. With growing business across the
Hudson River in New York City, the company decided to add a second
location in Manhattan five years ago.
While the vast majority of Linde-Griffith’s work has been in
the greater New York area, the company is starting to look further
afield for future projects.
“We’re always looking to grow, especially as our clients, the
larger developers and construction managers, seek to expand their
horizons. We want to continue servicing them and fostering those
partnerships and relationships. They’re looking to do some work
in different areas, and we’d like to support them and support those
endeavors,” said Linde-Griffith CEO David Price. “We are always
open and eager to expand, not only in the services we provide, but
also in the markets where we feel we can positively impact.”
