EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR’S MESSAGE
PDCA is built by members, for the benefit
of members, to help members succeed.
the industry, processes and science that
go into a deep foundation project all
produced an informative and engaging
presentation. It didn’t happen overnight.
It took time, effort and several spirited
discussions to reach a common goal during
several meetings. At the same time,
the staff members for the respective partner
organizations were working hard to
manage the program details, communicate
with vendors, hotel and show management,
and start developing marketing
that would announce the availability
for this critical event. Everything had to
work together so that these goals were
achieved on or before the program date.
Anyone who has been involved in planning
and running any sort of event won’t
be surprised to know that this is an ongoing
effort. It is not a one-off or point-intime
step. Everything must be monitored,
amended, edited, managed right through
the end of the event. Once it’s over, an
assessment is made about the successes,
failures, what worked, what didn’t work,
what was done well, what could be done
better, who helped, whether the event
paid for itself and what steps should be
taken to consider scheduling a subsequent
event.
You may be asking yourself the question,
why are we talking about IFCEE
2021 in such detail? Why are we looking
behind the curtain? The answer is
because we want to make a significant
point. IFCEE 2021 had a lot of moving
parts. There were a lot of people involved.
These people were not in the same place
during the planning for the event but
were spread out over most of the continental
United States. There were significant
challenges to overcome. There was
great uncertainty that had to be resolved.
When questions came up, it took time to
Static Load Tester (SLT)
develop an answer, and in some cases,
form a new policy. There were logistical
concerns that had to be considered.
Timing was a crucial component in every
decision. The cost of everything was considered,
but no expense was spared to
present the best program possible.
In the end, IFCEE 2021 worked. Why?
IFCEE 2021 worked because everyone
involved worked together toward a common
goal. We have all heard the adage
that “many hands make light work,”
and that is undoubtedly true for IFCEE
2021. However, if all these hands are not
pulling in the same direction, then the
result could be a complete disaster. That
was not the case here. The many hands
involved in making IFCEE 2021 a success
all worked in the same direction, toward
the same goal. So, for all the effort, time,
sweat, tears, experience, innovation, creativity
and good ol’ stick-to-itiveness put
• Obtains and records reliable readings at programmable load intervals during a test
• Monitors up to 16 independent channels taken from traditional pile-top measurements
• Real-time monitoring, analyisis, and interpretation of results on the job site or remotely
