impact hammers, vibroflots, rotary heads and hydraulic power
packs. PVE USA also offers Woltman piling and drilling rigs and a
wide range of Bell dredging equipment.
The company is enjoying steady growth in the U.S. and Canada,
thanks to its reliable product line and commitment to quality
assurance and quality control (QA/QC).
“Our main focus here is on offering high quality foundation
products,” said Herald Wattenberg, director of U.S. operations for
PVE Equipment USA. “We want to excel in having a complete portfolio
for piling, drilling and dredging. Our customers benefit from
our reliable products and our new rental fleet.”
He said Dieseko Group has been focused on high quality products
from its founding in 1974, although that commitment was
formalized in 1996 when it achieved ISO 9001 certification.
“One of the main QA/QC milestones has been following ISO
9001, not just from a marketing perspective but really using the
certification as a tool to help improve our organization’s quality.
We ensure we do the right things and if something goes wrong, we
can fall back on procedures and change them if necessary.”
Wattenberg explained that Dieseko Group started off as a vibro
hammer rental house and initially performed only visual equipment
inspections.
“This changed to a systematic control system of check-in and
check-out equipment sheets as well as test running the equipment
before and after rentals. A repair and service log created a valuable
data system for all our equipment.”
On the manufacturing side, QA/QC was emphasized at Dieseko
with adherence to accepted industry engineering standards,
including the purchase of high quality parts and internal quality
control. The manufacturer implemented testing at various stages
and a final QC check before equipment was dispatched to a job
site. End users were asked to fill out a commissioning report that
warranted the highest working standards and best performance.
“The philosophy from the beginning has been to focus on
high quality products, because in the end quality pays itself out,”
said Wattenberg.
With its ISO 9001 certification, Dieseko focused on monitoring
on-site performance and tracking and logging warranty
issues to improve overall quality. Although equipment breakdowns
in the construction industry do happen, the company
wanted to hone in on its problem-solving strategies and use the
lessons learned to prevent similar problems in the future. To do
this, it works closely with customers to implement new ideas and
product improvements.
