EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR’S MESSAGE
When We Work Together,
Good Things
Can Happen
Many people in the deep
foundations industry just
experienced IFCEE 2021 by
attending the event in person or participating
through the online option. We think
that everyone would agree that this was
a good event, especially considering the
amount of concern expressed due to the
ongoing health crisis. IFCEE 2021 is now
in the books, and we can say with certainty
that it was a remarkable success. There
is not one area regarding this event that
could or should be singled out as the reason
for this accomplishment. Everything
that was offered during the event worked
together to put IFCEE 2021 in the win column.
This sentiment is supported by the
results. Over 2,500 people were part of this
remarkable experience. Thanks to everyone
who participated, exhibited, sponsored,
presented and attended. Your involvement
helped make IFCEE 2021 a successful event.
It will not surprise anyone when we
say that an event like IFCEE 2021 can only
happen because of the significant effort by
a lot of people. This includes the respective
employees from the partner organizations,
ADSC, ASCE, DFI and PDCA. Their
role is essential. As the managing partner
for IFCEE, the ADSC staff carries a much
larger load than the other organizations,
and their work is critical for managing the
day-to-day operation for the event. Again,
no one is surprised. This is as it should be.
What is surprising is how many other people
are involved in making a program like
IFCEE 2021 work. It would be hard to estimate
the total amount of time expended
by volunteers over the three years of planning,
evaluation and execution to produce
IFCEE 2021.
One group alone, the IFCEE Technical
Planning Committee, made up of over
30 people, with additional people serving
to collect, review and post presentations,
has expended many thousands of
hours collectively to produce the technical
program presented during IFCEE
2021. This group of dedicated people,
representing all four partner organizations,
started working almost immediately
after the previous IFCEE event
in 2018 to start planning for the program
held in May 2021. Their significant
efforts, care, concern and knowledge of
