customers want us to go,” said Juneau. “One area that we want to
try to push into is over into Texas. If we were to start another location,
it would probably be in that Pasadena, Baytown area of Texas.”
Engen agrees: “We’ve done some projects there. That area is just
so hot, and there is a lot of activity going on there.”
Juneau says when it comes to finding new business, there’s a
principle that his company always tries to adhere to.
“We don’t chase the project; we chase the client. We focus on
building strong relationships with clients, and by having those relationships
with them, as they grow, we grow,” he said. “We feel our
growth potential is really unlimited.”
Premier Geotech and Testing is a new engineering affiliate
member of the Pile Driving Contractors Association, but both
Juneau and Engen share a long history with the association.
“I’ve been involved with PDCA for years and years, and so has
Jason. Even back with our other companies, we were actively
involved with the local PDCA chapters,” said Juneau.
Both men say they appreciate PDCA for the networking and
learning that comes from membership.
“For me as an engineer and knowing that we try to be innovative
at Premier, I value the interaction I get with the guys who are
actually driving the piles. We get to hear from them, and they can
tell us what kind of problems they’re having,” said Juneau.
“So, I’m able to gain that practical knowledge and take that and
apply it in my engineering reports and then pass that down to our
technicians and inspectors, who can apply this knowledge in the
field. That just makes everything more efficient. That’s what I truly
gain out of PDCA,” he said.
“I would like to add to that, and it is very similar,” said Engen. “I
feel like I’m always learning, and so the more I’m around pile driving
contractors, the more I hear about the challenges they have
and ways that they address them. It’s another thing I’ll stick in my
pocket and try to remember.” t
