LOOKING AHEAD PDCA ENGINEERING AFFILIATE MEMBER
It’s been almost 65 years since Braun Intertec opened for business
in Minnesota, but the geotechnical engineering, environmental
consulting and testing firm that’s now 100 percent employee owned
hasn’t lost the entrepreneurial spirit of its founder
By Mark Halsall
Braun Intertec was launched by Jack
Braun in 1957, when the young
geotechnical engineer decided to
start his own company working out of his
parent’s garage in Minneapolis, Minn.
Braun’s fledgling business has since then
grown into a leading geotechnical engineering,
environmental consulting and construction
materials testing firm, with 40 offices
stretching from North Dakota to Texas.
Although the company now operates
under an employee stock ownership plan
(ESOP), it hasn’t lost the entrepreneurial
spirit of its founder.
