PDCA ENGINEERING AFFILIATE MEMBER
LOUISIANA

ike Juneau and Jason Engen are two young Louisiana entrepreneurs who
founded their own geotechnical engineering and construction materials
testing firm two years ago.
“Mike and I go back a little ways,” said Engen, who first met his business partner in
2007 when he was brought in as department manager at a company Juneau was working
for at the time.
Engen left that job but was later hired by Juneau at another firm where he was vice
president. As that company’s director of client development, Engen worked closed with
Juneau for three years before the two decided they should strike out on their own.
“Something just clicked,” said Engen. “It was a good partnership. We did well there and
just felt like, you know what, the time is right, we’re the right age, we’ve built some relationships
and we’ve had the experience. We felt if we’re ever going to go do our own thing, let’s
do it now. So we decided to partner up and start Premier.”
Engen and Juneau founded Premier Geotech and Testing in Baton Rouge, La., in June
2018. Juneau, who’s 36, is president and Engen, who’s 39, is executive vice-president. The
company currently has a staff of 32 people.
For Mike Juneau and Jason
Engen, founders of Baton
Rouge-based Premier
Geotech and Testing, finding
the right people, fostering
business relationships and
focusing on innovation have
been the keys to success
