“That’s something that Cecil has always prided himself on, the
fact you could do anything in the world with a 580 backhoe,” joked
Knowles. The company’s equipment list has grown by leaps and
bounds, however, and now includes two ICE® diesel impact hammers
and two 218 and 248 HSL Link-Belt cranes and a 65-ton rough

CDG, LLC has about 50 employees and its headquarters are
17,500 square feet in Alexandria, about 125 miles northwest of
Baton Rouge.
While about half of the company’s revenues are derived from
pile driving work, “Our biggest thing is our diversity,” said Knowles.
“We still do utility work, sewer and water, different lift stations and
water facilities. We also have a structural concrete section.”
CDG, LLC’s most unique attribute is the fact it does complex
concrete and pile driving as well as utility work.
“Three things that a lot of the time you don’t see tied together,”
said Knowles. “We can do your sewer relocation, drive your piles,
dig your bridge or build any kind of complex concrete you’ve got.”
Having diverse expertise allows the company to bid on or subcontract
on work with a broad scope, he adds.
“We’re really able to go out and get on these diverse projects,
especially government bridge projects. We’re doing one now that
has water and sewer, that has a relocation on it, along with the pile
driving and bridge building, and then go back and reinstall water
and sewer. We’re able to do it all in-house.”
Although most of the company’s work is conducted in Louisiana,
CDG, LLC has worked on projects throughout the southeast, in
states such as Arkansas, Mississipi and Texas.
