“Become a sponge and absorb as much information as you can
when you first start out,” said Hogencamp. “Whether you’re a supplier
or contractor, first and foremost listen to your client’s needs,
and become invested in helping them become successful.”
Finding work/life balance
While Hogencamp loves his job, he says that time away from work
is equally important. Among his many hobbies, he most enjoys

hitting the golf course – which he says is more challenging than
anything at work – and watching Alabama football, along with
spending quality time with family and friends.
Hogencamp is something of a renaissance man and also counts
cooking as one of his hobbies, specifically grilled corn.
“Here’s the secret. Strip off the husks and put each cob in tin foil.
Doctor it up with salt, pepper, garlic, maybe some creole seasoning
or something similar, then add a healthy serving of butter. That’s
really the key. Then cook it for 45 minutes at 400 degrees. Best corn
you’ll ever eat.” t
