 Club Diversification
 Cross-country skiing and moonlit snowshoeing
were creative ideas for winter property use at the
 Oakfield Golf & Country Club

On a beautiful winter weekend in February, something a
little different happened at the Oakfield Golf & Country
 Club in Nova Scotia.
“It didn’t occur to me that we could host a provincial crosscountry
ski championship,” said Eric Tobin, PGA, general manager
of the facility and the branch president of CSCM Atlantic.
“Our parking lot was full, and we had lots of people enjoying
 the property.”
This past winter, the Oakfield Golf & Country Club partnered
with the Halifax Nordic Ski Club to offer professional groomed
trails to cross-country skiers. During a weekend event in February
hosted on the club’s property, freestyle, classic and skate skiers
competed on a 1.8-kilometre loop with enthusiastic spectators
 cheering them on.
