Being OEM to Caterpillar and producing high-quality rigs means
that CZM customers are always in great hands, no matter how
long ago they may have purchased their equipment. Taking care
of their customers and ensuring they have the best equipment for
their job is something CZM takes great pride in.
“We have a phenomenal number of repeat customers,” said
Savarese. “There’s not a person who I deal with that buys a
machine and doesn’t buy another CZM. It’s because of the level
of service and attention that they get; I hear that repeatedly (from
my customers). When someone buys a machine, we’re calling them
up, we’re going to see them. That’s the way we’ve always done it,
but not everybody is doing that these days. So, the customer, they
notice that.”
Being members of PDCA also helps CZM foster that clear
and consistent communication, not only with their customers, but
also with the competition. “We are members of every chapter of
the PDCA in the United States,” said Savarese. “Our salespeople
are required to attend chapter meetings. It’s opportunity for us to
communicate with customers and potential customers. Getting
feedback from customers on what they’d like to see, what they have
and what they like, what they don’t like. We spend a lot of time
with our competitors at these things, too, staying friendly. Some of
my best friends are people who are actually competitors. It’s a small
world in this industry, like many others.”
With their upcoming facility expansion and continuation of
manufacturing high-quality rigs, the future looks clear and bright
for CZM Foundation Equipment as they remain focused on their
three pillars of success and their drive to keep growing forward. t

The manufacturing is supervised directly by the family and they
work out of the facility in Pembroke.”
The Pembroke plant is state-of-the-art and, “...is four bazillion
square feet with nine bazillion people working there,” Savarese
said. With that many employees, that must be the reason they’ll
have doubled their capacity by the end of 2019 with an expansion
of a facility that’s already making a lot of machinery. “They produce
four units per month out of the plant. We have 160 rigs that have
been produced in the U.S., since about 2007, that are operating in
the U.S. They do go throughout the world and we’re still producing
rigs for other markets in Brazil. We have multiple rigs operating in
every region, for sure. And they’re moved around a lot so if it’s not
in your state today, it is tomorrow.”
CZM is the original equipment manufacturer for Caterpillar,
with three quarters of the parts for CZM rigs directly available not
only in Pembroke, but also at local CAT dealers. “We are OEM
to Caterpillar and have a very tight relationship with Caterpillar,”
said Savarese. “We even share engineering with Caterpillar.
(When serving customers) we not only handle the CZM part of
the warranty, we also handle the Caterpillar part of the warranty.
But on the other hand, the customer can go directly to their CAT
dealer and they will honor the warranty also.”
All CZM original parts are available at the Pembroke plant
and at regional service centers spread across the U.S., making it
easy for customers to get the parts and the service they need, when
they need it.
