Looking
to 2019
Welcome to Issue 6 of PileDriver. This is the last issue for
2018 and I am sure the six editions PDCA has planned
for you in 2019 will be equally, if not more, impressive
than ever before. The PDCA Communications Committee, in
partnership with our longtime publisher Lester Publications, continues
to seek interesting, informative and industry relevant articles
designed to keep you abreast of this fast-paced and exciting industry.
I want to thank the entire Communications Committee and
team at Lester Publications for their hard work in making PDCA’s
PileDriver magazine such an important and impressive part of what
we offer our members.
As hard as everyone works on the magazine, it would not be
possible if not for the PDCA member companies who agree to provide
the magazine’s content. Whether contributing to a Member
Profile, Project Spotlight, feature article or other content topic,
your participation and support of PileDriver is commendable and
very much appreciated.
PDCA encourages our member companies to consider contributing
articles. As you know, any PDCA member can participate
and contribute an article, there is no limit to the number of articles
you can contribute annually, there is professional support available
and you can’t find this kind of visibility or marketing anywhere at
no cost (that’s zero $$) to you. Keep in mind, there are well over
3,000 copies distributed with each edition and those individuals
EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR’S MESSAGE
who receive PileDriver want to read all about what you are doing,
how you do it, how they should do it, how to do safely and limit risk
and liability. Give us a call and we can explain how you can be a
welcomed contributor in 2019.
Another exciting program undertaken by the PDCA
Communications Committee is the unveiling of the new PDCA
website, www.piledrivers.org. PDCA Communications Committee
chair, Pollyanna Cunningham, received the go-ahead from the
Board during the 2018 Strategic Planning session to develop the
new website with the support of Sean Stewart (Digital Trooper),
PDCA’s technical webmaster. Pollyanna and Sean contributed
countless hours creating a more robust, dynamic, efficient and visually
appealing website for PDCA. PDCA knows that on a project
of this size there are bound to be some gremlins lurking about. We
will continue to improve the site, but want you to visit the site too
and check it out. If you see a missing link, or one that is not directed
correctly, let us know and we will make the correction right away.
As executive director of PDCA, I have the privilege of working
with some amazing and very dedicated individuals. The PDCA
Board was a group of these very special people who did a tremendous
job representing PDCA and its members. At the helm was
Larry Moore. Larry, despite his quiet demeanor and subtle sense of
humor, led PDCA with an innovative, clear and direct vision. Larry
brought a calculated and focused action plan to PDCA, producing
