▼▼PDCA RELOCATES TO NEW OFFICE
After seven years in the Executive Center on Wells Road in
Orange Park, Fla., PDCA has relocated the office to a new
complex.
In 2007, PDCA opened its first Florida office at 1857 Wells
Road. The office was about 500 square feet and the only occupant
was the executive director. Later that year, PDCA hired a
part-time assistant to help manage the office. As time went on
and PDCA grew, the office remained in the same complex but
moved from space to space as growing demands required.
The lease on Wells Road was ending on October 31, 2014.
With four full-time employees, more efficient space was needed,
so PDCA began to look for a new location early this past summer.
As the process of finding a new location proceeded, PDCA’s
executive director, Stevan Hall, discussed the move with the
executive committee and board of directors regarding space and
how PDCA should consider all options and scenarios for the
future property.
Initially, PDCA was looking for space similar to or slightly
larger than the old office, but with a more efficient floor plan.
As the search progressed, PDCA was shown a new, two-story
office, which had never been occupied. The first floor is approximately
1,000 sq. ft. and the second floor approximately 900 sq.
ft. The second floor was open with the exception of a bathroom.
As discussions regarding office space between the executive
director and board continued, it was determined that PDCA
could use the second floor to conduct smaller educational programs,
strategic planning and an occasional board or committee
meeting. Utilizing the extra space this way would result in a
cost-savings measure for PDCA in the form of less staff travel,
no room block guarantees, lower food and beverage costs, no
audio/visual support and some other miscellaneous savings
associated with utilizing off-site properties. The second story
has enough room to comfortably accommodate 20 individuals.
The room has the capacity to expand by 10, ultimately accommodating
30, with enough space to still accommodate the A/V
requirements and the speaker.
As a result, PDCA elected to move into the offices located
at 33 Knight Boxx Road, Suite 1 in Orange Park, Fla. The first
floor has five “offices” – one for each staff person and one for
storage, along with a kitchen area, bathroom and entrance lobby.
Since the office had never been occupied, PDCA selected the
carpet – a blue-gray tone that reflects PDCA’s colors.
PDCA is excited about our new location and invites everyone
