Celebrating 25 years in business, Tolunay-Wong
Engineers, Inc. has no plans for slowing down
PDCA member company Tolunay-Wong Engineers, Inc.
(TWE) is a full-service geosciences and materials engineering
company that provides services in Texas and Louisiana,
as well as surrounding states including New Mexico, Oklahoma,
Arkansas, Mississippi and Alabama. TWE has also worked on
numerous projects in Mozambique, Kuwait, Qatar, Mexico and
other countries. With its corporate headquarters in Houston, the
company has 11 offices along the Gulf Coast, eight in Texas and
three in Louisiana.
Co-founded by Daniel O. Wong, P.E., Ph.D. in 1993, the
company is now celebrating its 25th year in business. From the
early days with just three employees, TWE has grown to about
385 employees. Wong continues to own the company, serving as its
president and CEO.
With its prominence along the Gulf Coast, heavy industry is
a significant focus of TWE’s work, says Patrick Kenney, P.E., the
company’s VP of engineering services and an employee since 2009.
The company undertakes projects in the commercial, transportation
and government market sectors, as well.
Pile driving, as a major activity in the industrial market, is
“a big part of our business,” said Kenney. In terms of pile driving,
TWE’s services include:

•• Wave equation analysis
•• Static load testing of deep foundations
•• High strain dynamic pile testing using pile driving analyzer
•• Low strain dynamic pile testing using pile integrity tester
•• Thermal integrity profiling
•• Cross-hole and single-hole sonic logging
•• Vibration monitoring
•• Turnover packages
The company has state-of-the-art geotechnical and construction
materials testing laboratories to facilitate these services.
