PDCA conducted its annual strategic planning session at the
PDCA offices, Jan. 10 to 12.
The PDCA Board of Directors identified three main goals
for 2018:
Goal 1: Communicate the benefits of driven pile (as a viable and economical
deep foundation solution and support of excavation systems).
Objectives for accomplishing this goal are to develop one- to
two-hour “Lunch and Learn” PowerPoint presentations for young
engineers on the benefits of driven pile; disseminate engineers steel
pile short course to all PDCA chapters for presentation as a oneday
seminar; finalize the Engineers’ Driven Pile Institute; and create
an archive of FAQ from “Ask PDCA.”
Goal 2: Raise awareness of the need to renew infrastructure.
Objectives for accomplishing this goal are to partner with
other organizations to promote lobbying efforts; be a professional
advisor to Craft Training Programs; and solicit support from members
of the GeoCoalition.
Goal 3: Focus on membership and member participation.
Objectives for accomplishing this goal are to review and refill
PDCA committee slots and support recommencement of the
Florida, Texas and Mid-Atlantic chapters.
Each member of the PDCA Board of Directors will be personally
involved in the goals and objectives of the strategic plan. Any
PDCA member who wants to be involved in any of the objectives
as defined above should contact the PDCA office at 904-215-4771.
