Never looking back, Hunter Arrighi
swiftly becomes industry leader
Having grown up in the construction industry and loving
every minute of it along the way, GROUP Deep Foundations
project manager Hunter Arrighi never hesitated
when it came time to choose a career.
He got his first construction experience while still in high
school as an assistant estimator and quickly acclimated to the
industry. He later served as a field laborer while attending Louisiana
State University (LSU).
“That’s when I was exposed to deep foundations,” said Arrighi.
“I became fascinated and wanted to learn more.”
He earned a bachelor’s degree in construction management
from LSU, then was hired full-time as an estimator and project
manager at GROUP Deep Foundations in December 2013. The
Baton Rouge-based company provides a variety of deep foundation
services, including pile driving, drilled shafts, auger cast piles and
marine services, among others.
In his current role, Arrighi has shown a remarkable drive for
excellence and a thirst for knowledge. Of the 46 projects he has
managed, most notable are the installation of 2,180 precast piles
and 284 drill shafts at Formosa Plastics Corp. in Point Comfort,
Texas, and the installation of 221 steel pipe piles at Diamond Green
Diesel in Norco, La.
“I enjoy taking the experiences from previous projects and
incorporating them into estimates or new projects,” said Arrighi. “I
look forward to what is next in my career, knowing that every day I
will learn something new that will help me become a better project
manager and estimator. I’ve been fortunate in that I have been surrounded
with knowledgeable and experienced people who have and
will continue to teach me.”
Away from work, he is swiftly becoming an industry leader by
taking active roles in the Pile Driving Contractors Association, Deep
Foundations Institute and Associated Builders and Contractors’
(ABC) Pelican Chapter. Additionally, he participates in the Young
Professionals Committee at ABC.
Arrighi also strives to enhance his leadership skills through
a variety of continuing education endeavors. As such, he has completed
the Human Dynamic’s Uncommon Leadership course, with
concentrations in the Foundations of Uncommon Leadership/
Five Dysfunctions of a Team, Dealing with People, Crucial
Accountability, Leading and Developing People, Leading with
Presence and Leading Transformations.
He has also completed the Human Dynamic’s Personametrics
Organizational Behaviors Assessment, a self-assessment survey
designed to identify a participant’s most comfortable organizational
values, roles and attitudes; as well as the Cognitive Ability
Measurement, which measures problem solving, numerical, verbal
and spatial abilities. t
